RTB83 – Lest We Forget

Hello there blog readers,
Over at Raise the Bar, Joni challenged us to make something to commemorate Veteran’s Day, but I thought I would showcase how we celebrate in Canada.
We call it Remembrance Day and we all wear poppies to show that we haven’t forgotten. I may not attend a ceremony in person anymore, but I am always grateful that I have never lived to see a war in this country. Take a moment to remember those who fought for our peace and freedom (and to those who continue to do so)!
In Flanders Fields – John McCrae
In Flanders fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.

We are the Dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved and were loved, and now we lie,
         In Flanders fields.

Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
         In Flanders fields.

Hope to see you playing along with us! If you upload to any online galleries, please label RTB83 for your keywords.

Please check in with the other Bar-tenders to see what they have created:
