  1. hmmm. I havent had alot of favorite birthday memories. But there is one that I will never forget. Although it may sound sad to most. Back in 2004 on my Birthday my mom called me for my birthday. She always was one to make you feel special on your birthday and although she did buy me anything that year, she sure made me feel special. That was the last Birthday I received a call from my mom. She passed away a few months later. But thinking back every birthday. She left me something to be thankful for and a memory that I will never forget.

  2. My husband took me shopping on my birthday which is the day after Christmas. Even though we live on a very tight budget he said to get whatever I wanted. He said he trusted me not to overspend.

  3. Aren’t the best bdays the ones you don’t remember the next day……

  4. Hi Thanh — my favorite birthday memory was my 33rd birthday & a very fun party @ my house. I had 2 little girls at that point & that made it super special!!
It’s hard to believe that was 4 years ago (aug 20) — & my little one is turning 6 tomorrow !!!
    Fun birthdays all around!!!
Happy 30th!!! It really does get better with age!!! :)) :))

  5. Hey Thanh! I hope you had a great birthday!
hmmm my most memorable birthday was when I was 14 turning 15… and one of my best friend’s Angela and I were walking home after cheer leading/ dance practice. I had a terrible week and wanted to just go home (I usually celebrated my birthday with my best friends at my house with a scary movie and lots and lots of food… that was the first year that I said I wouldn’t because I felt lousy) Anyways, she convince me to go to her house and just hangout for a bit … and I reluctantly said OK.. and as she opened the door ALL of my friends JUMPED OUT and SURPRISED ME!!! I was so frightened but happy at the same time! And remember all my friends pooled their allowance and got me a Mccain deep and delicious cake and pizza… (this was in the 90s so we didnt get much allowance). I was and I still am so grateful for amazing best friends.

  6. Hope you had a great birthday! Wow thirty..so young! Enjoy. I always remember my birthdays when I was young and my parents would invite all our family friends and we would have a great time with lots of laughs and great memories.

  7. Hi, a special birthday?? They are all a bit special, but one of my favourites was a few years ago.
I was sharing it with crafty friends following my first and only copic workshop .They made me cry when they came in with a birthday cake and song all together..I was positively surprised.

  8. Happy Birthday! mine was Aug 19th…and I have to say it was memorable…. I thought everyone forgot it as no one said anything! So it wasn’t until a friend called me to go help her move something that I realized it was a Surprise party!! Everyone was there…family and friends.. it was wonderful!

  9. My favorite Birthday memory is when my Scrubby handed me a gift bag and inside was a persian kitten.. I called him Carson and that moment started my life long love of persian cats.

  10. I have been blessed with many special birthdays in my life. July was a month that was shared by one of my Grandmothers, my Dad and myself. My Dad’s birthday was only two days before mine, and my Grandma’s birthday was 15 days from mine. Our family would always do things together and have big huge celebrations. But the most special memories were my Grandma, my Mom and siblings would go to a fancy resteraunt in our area and having lobster dinner. I grew up in the MidWest in the middle of a farming community, so a lobster dinner was extreme treat for a farm girl. πŸ™‚

    • Mmm… lobster! I’m so glad you were able to share so many wonderful birthday memories with your family over the years.

  11. My favorite Birthday, wow, well Id have to say I love all my birthdays, I guess My favorite birthday was my first birthday I was single and my children and one of my friends got me a birthday cake and it said love all 11 of there names were on it, Just knowing I had 11 amazingly wonderful healthy smart, silly kids and a great friend was just made me the happiest being all together to share my birthday. That I have to say was my favorite because now my children are all out of the house and its very rare we are al together at the same time, 3 of 4 of my children are in the military are active duty 2 are deployed one to afghanistan and my daughter in the airforce to Korea, my other children live in different states so looking back and see all of us be happy and laugh and giggle eat cake and ice cream could of been the best gift ever… Yes Id say BEST BIRTHDAY EVER…..

  12. My favorite birthday was in 2001. The church we Pastor gave me a surprise party and a new dishwasher. I had never own a dishwasher so I was real excited. Thanks for the chance to win.

  13. My most memorable birthday was when I turned 30; I was feeling a little down (30 seemed so old then, but so young now) and two of my friends took me out for a surprise lunch and a glass of wine to make me feel better. I’m way, way past 30 now and am just glad to still be here as each new birthday happens.

  14. My favorite birthday was probably my 21st Birthday!! Having all my family and friends all in one place was amazing!! I had such a good time!!

  15. When I turned 21 (I’m 49 now) so it left a big impression! But, let’s not go into details…..

  16. Favorite Birthday? My 16th birthday because I got my drivers license. πŸ™‚

  17. I think my favourite birthday memory was this year (my 32nd birthday). Even though my birthday landed on a Saturday, I had to work, making a 6 day work week for me. I knew I’d be tired after work and told my husband that we didn’t have to do anything for my birthday this year.

Well I was sure surprised when I got home from work and all our friends and my parents and sister were there for a surprise party!! I didn’t think he would ever be able to pull off a surprise party without me suspecting anything, but he did!

  18. My favorite birthday was the first one after I became a mother…. my wonderful husband bought me a beautiful mother/daughter pendant for a necklace…it remains as one of my favorite treasures…best gift ever… thank you for the chance to win!

    • Oh, Lynda, what a sweet memory!! One that you’re still able to see each day you wear that necklace. Thanks for sharing

  19. Happy 30th Birthday, Thanh!
Wishing you the best! πŸ™‚ Sunshine, smiles, love and hugs!
I think my most memorable birthday was last year. It was just before our move from WI to OH. My friends made me feel so special, and my husband sent flowers to my work (he was already in Oh, while I was still in WI). It is important I think to make everybody’s birthday special. πŸ™‚
Thank you for the sweet give away!

  20. My favorite birthday memory would have to be my sixteenth. I had had a competition that day (it was a Friday) and we were worn out as a family. πŸ™‚ It was just me, Mom, and Dad and it was simple and fantastic. The next day, I got to go on my first “car” date. That was fun, too. πŸ™‚

  21. My special birthday memories are the two surprise parties I had and I was totally surprised at both of them. One was when I turned 13 –my mom kept trying to get me to change clothes and I couldn’t figure out why until all my friends showed up. The other was given by my church stamping group when I turned 50 and they all gave me more stamping goodies.

  22. I have two favorite birthday memories–both were surprise birthday parties. One when I turned 13 and I couldn’t figure out why my mom kept trying to get me to change my clothes and the other was when I turned 50–my church stamping group surprised me with many stamping goodies.

  23. My favorite birthday would have to be my 30th. I was really wanting a Cuttlebug that year, and our church members (my husband is a pastor) got together and bought it for me, along with a bunch of scrapping goodies! It’s been very well loved!!

  24. Happy 30th Birthday Thanh! What a great age to be. I would have to say that one of my all time favorite Birthday memories was when I was 6 months pregnant with our oldest. We had been trying to have a baby for over 5 years and had long given up when we got pregnant with our son. My Birthday is May 23rd and my Husband took me to a place called The Porter House. As you might have guessed they specialize in great cute of steaks. We had both ordered a teriyaki steak and as it was just the two of us we were so busy visiting with each other that we didn’t notice that about 45 minutes had gone by without any food. When the waitress came to our table she told us that they had a new chef and he did not realize that they were out of what we had ordered. They offered to make us each a Porterhouse steak at no extra charge along with giving us a warmed up cup of teriyaki sauce to go with them… That was fine with us. However neither one of us realized just how big of a cut a porterhouse is. :O) We ended up splitting one of the steaks and bringing the other one home for lunch the next day it was that big! It was also the best steak I have ever eaten. Then when they found out it was my birthday they would not let us pay anything for our meals at all. It truly was very very sweet of them and we made sure we left her a big tip as it really was not that big of a deal to either of us. We have since made sure to go back for special occasions as they were so good to us then and they are still to this day. Mind you that was over 15 years ago and I can still remember the fun that Birthday ended up to be for us both. Hope you had a great Birthday. Happy Happy Birthday!!! Hugs, Lisa G

    • Awww Lisa, what a fantastic birthday memory! You must have a steak on my behalf, too, each time you go to the Porter House. Now that is the way to win people’s business back! Thanks for sharing

  25. Happy Birthday, Thanh! Your new site is adorably perfect. I love it! πŸ™‚

I have many memorable birthdays from when I was young– since my birthday is a week before Halloween (the best Holiday) I would always get to have a birthday costume party with all of my friends. It was SO much fun to have two nights to wear our costumes and be crazy!

    Luvs,
    Annie Rose

  26. Such a fab new bloggie home!!!! Hope you had a fabulous birthday!!!!!

I love my birthdays…I get to spend time with my family…I β™₯β™₯β™₯ it when my Momma cooks for me:)

It’s also special when my core group of friends are able to get together for birthday festivities…with everyone’s busy schedules it is a logistical nightmare.

  27. Happy 30th! I hope the next 30 are even more wonderful! My favorite birthday memory is from my childhood – I remember waking up and walking out of my ‘room’ (technically it was an office, no closet or door, in our tiny 2 bedroom house where my parents got one bedroom and my newborn sister got the other) and seeing a baby doll in a little cradle that swung back and forth and a ‘Happy Birthday’ note. I thought she was such a fancy doll because her eyes closed when you laid her flat and she made a baby sound when you squeezed her. I think it is my favorite memory because my parents were still married, my family was still together and everyone was happy & healthy. I hope you have many, many happy birthday memories and many more to come. πŸ™‚

  28. The first birthday that came to mind was when I was about 5 or 6. My parents didn’t have a lot of money and they wanted me to have a party. I remember having a lot of friends over in the backyard — but the part I remember best was the huge platter of peanut butter and jelly sandwiches cut into triangles that we were all served. I was so excited! I remember that clearly — 50 years later!

  29. One birthday memory I have is not a fun one but every year when my birthday rolls around, I think about it. My grandma passed away on my birthday 15 years ago at the age of 86. She was the best grandma ever And I sure do miss her! PS did you get my bday card in time?

  30. so… i think my favourite birthday would be my 18th. my mother wanted to give me a cotillion, but i was trying to shirk tradition and in true fashion wasn’t into the whole thing. looking back, i was lucky. my parents rented out a restaurant for the event and invited my friends from school -and really tried to get me to participate my heritage. things that for some reason i didn’t appreciate back then. the whole evening was lovely.

  31. Oh, wow! Happy Belated Birthday! I loved my 30th birthday party! My mom and my boys and I were going to my favorite place for lunch and to my SURPRISE several of my friends and family were there waiting to surprise me! It was Awesome! Enjoy 30!!!!
