If you came over from the Sweet Stamp Shop blog, welcome! If you’re reading my blog through a reader or came by here first, you’ll want to check out my feature on the Sweet blog today as I am showcasing how to create greeting cards using pocket scrapbook cards! Hint: I recycled my cards from a pocket scrapbook layout.
Here’s a quick tip on how to line up any alpha stamp. Recall the cards I created for my scrapbook page:
I used Sweet Stamp Shop’s Lower Outline Alpha to create the word “outdoor.”
As you can see, there is only one letter each in the set so you have to take extra caution if you want to stamp your letters straight across. No problem, the stamp set is clear so that’s an advantage you already have! But what about lining the word up across your spread if you want it centered? Easy peasy – what I do is count the letters that I will be needing and always start with the middle letter and stamp that right in the middle of the card.
So for the word, outdoor, the letter D would be my middle letter so I started with that. From there, it’s just a matter of continually stamping the rest of your letters out! be warned though, make sure you’re paying attention to what letter goes next because I’ve blooped this up in the past because I was watching a tv show or my boyfriend started a conversation with me.
I know, it’s such a simple tip, but sometimes I forget about the basics because I get wrapped up with perfecting the end product! Don’t forget to head on over to the Sweet Stamp Shop blog to see how I recycled my pocket cards to make giveaway greetings:
