Hello there! Welcome to Wednesday; you’re halfway there! 🙂 I am kicking this morning off with a blog post of one of my favourite stamp companies – the Sweet Stamp Shop. If you’ve arrived here for the first time, welcome! Those readers who have been with me for awhile will recall that I was part of the Design Team for Sweet from June through August. I’m back today to help out with the Black Friday Extravaganza! What can I say, the stamps are adorable and you can make one wicked pun project for the right person with all the different whimsical images.
The sets that I’m featuring are part of the newest release: Taco Bout It and the Petite Sweet Guac Love. All my closest friends know that I love me some good Mexican food! Top it off with some spicy pico de gallo and guacamole and call it a day, peeps! I have a huge place in my heart (er… stomach?) for some of that down south spice!
I created these 3×3 cards with the mindset that they would be perfect lunchbox cards. How about love notes to your partner or children? I think they’d also make adorable Valentine’s Day cards. I know what you’re thinking: it’s too early for Valentine’s, but it’s one of my favourite holidays to make paper projects for. It’s never too early to make something I enjoy, right! I kept the cards fairly CAS to showcase the images.
For my next project, I had no particular design or objective when I first started colouring, but after cutting the images out and they were sitting on my desk all lined up, I realized how cute they would be in a comic strip! I quickly did some research by looking through a few of the Beau’s comic books and searched online of how I could create a comic layout.
My card is an A2 – 4.25 x 5.5 inches -sized card and I knew that I only wanted to make three squares to make it symmetrical. I used a ruler and drew in my lines by using a black marker. After that, I used washi tape to section off my squares and swirled in grey ink for some background texture. Make sure you use washi tape or sticky notes to mask off the squares so you are not making a hot mess of your white space! I continued this process for all three squares.
Thanks for dropping in to see me today! To see more of projects of these stamps, head on over to the Sweet Blog.
