Sweet Stamp Shop |Lining Up Alpha Stamps Tip

Howdy, friends!

If you came over from the Sweet Stamp Shop blog, welcome! If you’re reading my blog through a reader or came by here first, you’ll want to check out my feature on the Sweet blog today as I am showcasing how to create greeting cards using pocket scrapbook cards! Hint: I recycled my cards from a pocket scrapbook layout.

Here’s a quick tip on how to line up any alpha stamp. Recall the cards I created for my scrapbook page:

I used Sweet Stamp Shop’s Lower Outline Alpha to create the word “outdoor.”

As you can see, there is only one letter each in the set so you have to take extra caution if you want to stamp your letters straight across. No problem, the stamp set is clear so that’s an advantage you already have! But what about lining the word up across your spread if you want it centered? Easy peasy – what I do is count the letters that I will be needing and always start with the middle letter and stamp that right in the middle of the card.

So for the word, outdoor, the letter D would be my middle letter so I started with that. From there, it’s just a matter of continually stamping the rest of your letters out! be warned though, make sure you’re paying attention to what letter goes next because I’ve blooped this up in the past because I was watching a tv show or my boyfriend started a conversation with me.

I know, it’s such a simple tip, but sometimes I forget about the basics because I get wrapped up with perfecting the end product! Don’t forget to head on over to the Sweet Stamp Shop blog to see how I recycled my pocket cards to make giveaway greetings:

Sweet Stamp Shop | Make It Masculine

Happy weekend, readers!

If you’ve come here from the Sweet Stamp Shop blog, welcome! If you started on my blog, I’m up on the Sweet blog today posting masculine cards specifically for Father’s Day. You’ll want to head over there and check out my post as I listed some of my tried, tested and true tips on creating the best masculine cards.

This is my final card of the masculine set I made and it’s for the one you love – the papa of your children:

Cheeky June 7 2014 Post 1 Cheeky June 7 2014 Post 2 Cheeky June 7 2014 Post 3 I’m going to review my tips here with this card:

  1. I kept the card very simple with a clean layout
  2. I used neutral colors and added in the contrasting teal and red to add interest
  3. No embellishments – stamping only!
  4. No sketch needed this time
  5. This card definitely has some wit

Also – do you see just now neutral this card really is? If I didn’t stamp the inside with the Father’s Day sentiment, it could be used for children, friends and your lover! I love how versatile the Sweet Stamp Shop images are!

For this project, I’ve used the sets Cheeky and Dad’s Tool Box:

Thanks for dropping by to see me today! Enjoy your weekend. xo
